Festive Gift Guide – For The Home & Soul

photographed by: Michelle Lau

It’s that time of the year again, the holiday season is here!

This year was especially challenging for me – I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder earlier in the year – to help cope with my anxieties, I’ve taken the time to learn more about self-care. The first thing I did was ensuring my home is comfortable, safe, and relaxed. I took a social media break, pursued more outdoor activities related to nature, started a fitness routine, and, most importantly, spent more time with my family. Living in New York can be challenging at times – the hustle and bustle of the city can take a toll on our health, both physically and mentally. How you live can significantly impact your well-being.

I firmly believe that our mental health is related to our home environment.

I started elevating my home one step at a time, for example, updating the handsoap I use daily by the kitchen sink, upgrading the picture frame of my favorite art in the apartment, and putting my favorite book on the coffee table – I find these simple gestures brings me joy and at times put me at ease. These updates to my home serve as a constant reminder for me to slow down, and listen to my mind and body – to rest.

Note: You don't have to break the bank to give your loved ones gifts they'll love.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by holiday obligations, there is a simple solution: Give gifts that show you care without breaking the bank. Finding the perfect gift for the people that matter to you can be a challenging task. This year, I’ve decided to come up with a gift concept: “Nourish And For The Home And Soul”.
