A Visit to Montana Furniture HQ - Copenhagen

Montana Furniture is a Danish-owned company specializing in high-end storage systems and furnishing solutions. I am particularly intrigued by their modular storage collection as this is something that I've been interested in for many years – having lived in New York City, I'm always looking for storage solutions for my clients – due to the limited space in our homes.

I find Montana products unique. The furnishings usually come with a plethora of colors – some of their iconic colors are reds, blues, and greens. You can view all the available 42 colors here.

Margrethe Odgaard, award-winning designer at Montana Furniture, said: "Colours mean everything. Ambience. Atmosphere. Identity". I couldn't agree more – color plays a vital role in conveying information and different moods, and even influencing people's decisions. People respond very differently to colors, and I made sure to ask my clients what colors they like and don't. This information is crucial to me as it will inform me of the design direction and the color palette of the space I'll create for them.

It is rare to see Montana Furniture in New York City, so I was delighted that I had a little time to spare to check out their two-story Copenhagen flagship store/showroom on Bredgade Street. They have a vast selection of products available in-store, even if you don’t need anything for your apartment, it’s fun to visit – be prepared to be inspired(by the colors).
