Vipp Showroom

You probably have seen the below metal waste bin, the iconic product developed by Vipp more than 75 years ago.

I first heard of Vipp from a friend, Simpson, with whom we had the pleasure to work together at a renowned design firm in NYC – I not only fell in love with their products, I love the spaces they create like the Vipp Shelter, and the Vipp Chimney House, to name a few.

It was a cold and cloudy day in Copenhagen. My morning started with a tasty Danish brunsviger fom Anderson & Maillard and a cup of coffee, and then I decided to check out the city by walking. As I was exploring, I passed by Vipp's showroom and decided to take a peek:

About Vipp:

Founded in 1932 by Holder Nielsen, his first product was the Vipp pedal bin which he designed and handcrafted for his wife Marie for her hairdressing salon. Currently, the brand is still family-owned, independent, Danish design company run by Holder’s daughter, Jette Egelund, her two children, Kasper and Sofie, and 45 employees in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Now that I’ve visited Vipp’s showroom in Copenhagen, I would love to visit their Manhattan showroom which I heard so much about on Dezeen and Yatzer. Stay tuned for another showroom tour when I return to Manhattan!
